New Zealand NET Patient Guide

This booklet has been developed to provide information about neuroendocrine tumours (NETs) for patients and their families. Click on the image to view the PDF version.

If there is any information in the guide that you do not understand please discuss it with a member of your medical team. Further or more detailed information about your type of neuroendocrine cancer may also be available so please do not hesitate to ask for this as well.

We hope this guide will be a helpful and informative resource throughout the coming weeks, months and years.

If you would like to receive a hard copy to your home or work address by post, please send us an email with your NZ mailing address; support@unicornfoundation.org.nz

PRRT in New Zealand: a guide for patients

In September 2020 PRRT launched in New Zealand for the first time, thanks to years of Unicorn Foundation NZ advocacy.

To help patients understand what this treatment involves, Unicorn Foundation NZ has worked with Auckland District Health Board to produce a patient guide.

Food & Symptom Diary

Your healthcare professional may request for you to keep a food and symptom diary to identify foods that trigger symptoms.

We have created a template for you to download and print to record your diet for easy reference. It is recommended that your diary is kept for at least 2 weeks.

Watch: NET Education Day Presentations

Although we have been fortunate enough to deliver valuable Education Days for our NET community, we understand that not everyone can access these annual events.

Some of the NET specialist talks from previous years NET Cancer Education Days can be viewed by following the You Tube Channel links here below.

Thank you again to our NET specialist speakers who all voluntarily gave their time to present at these Education Day events.
