World NET Cancer Day 2021
What is World NET Day?
World NET Cancer Day is an annual event held on the 10th of November, created to increase awareness of Neuroendocrine (NET) cancers and to provide a voice to the NET community for improved diagnostics, treatments, information, care and research.
The aim of World NET Cancer Day is to:
Raise awareness of NET cancers among decision makers, health professional and the general public to improve the quality of life and prognosis for NET cancer patients and decrease misdiagnosis.
Help the voice of NET cancer patients be heard by more people
Bring up-to-date information to people living with NETS, their caregivers and families.
Encourage more funds for research, treatments, patient support and resources for NET cancers.

What can you do to support?
1. Take and share a selfie!
One way we can get people thinking about and talking about NETs is by sharing your NET journey and we’ve got an easy way for you to do it.
Download the “Selfie Templates” from this website and complete as many of them as you like.
Take a selfie with each of your completed statements, just like our friend Chris here (pictured).
Send your selfies to us!* firstname.lastname@example.org
Throughout November, share your selfies on your social media pages to get those in your networks talking!
*By sending us your selfies, you are granting your permission for your photographs to be shared on our social media pages, newsletter and website for promotional and awareness purposes.

3. "Let's Talk About NETs" Research webinar

Sandra Fitzgerald: Can we improve monitoring for people with NETs?
Dr Ana Ramachandran: Untangling siNET Biology
Prof Cris Print: Rakeiora - an opportunity to build on NETwork! and shape how we do cancer genome research in NZ
Each talk will be around 10 minutes each, with time for Q&A following each talk. You can learn more about the NETwork team here.
4. Coffee Cup Campaign
Do you have a local café that you think can help?
Be a change maker and approach your local café to help promote the World NET Cancer campaign by serving coffees in the “Let’s Talk About NETs” branded cups. This aims to increase community awareness about this often misdiagnosed form of cancer and start conversations about what neuroendocrine cancer is, what symptoms to look out for and where to go for more information.
What to do:
Download and print the “Letter for Cafes” (below) and take it in to your local café. Have a chat with them about the campaign and what it would mean to us.
If they are keen to be involved, ask them to complete the order form (2nd page of the letter) and e-mail their completed form back to us.
We will take it from there, and send the café all they need in time for November 10th.
Get in touch if you have any questions or details to clarify; email@example.com
